Thanks to a fundamental revision of the Peltier unit itself, far greater temperature differences can also be realized with the devices. This means that a more diverse range of applications can be covered and the application can be further decoupled from the prevailing ambient temperature.

The devices are available in various sizes with an output range of 45 to 220 watts at an input voltage of 24 volts. A flexible design concept also allows individual customer requirements to be met quickly and cost-effectively.

RAL Special Colour

PROTEMP Peltier systems can be supplied in custom RAL colours upon request. The units meet protection class IP67, ensuring reliable operation even under demanding conditions and enabling use in both outdoor and offshore environments.

The custom colour adaptation is available at an additional cost; however, it offers the advantage of allowing control cabinets and temperature control systems to be visually integrated in a harmonious way, without compromising protection or functionality.

Surface Cooling

PROTEMP surface coolers are ideally suited for precise temperature control within control cabinets, targeting individual critical components. They deliver cooling performance exactly where it is needed—for example, at sensors, laser measurement technology, or test benches.

This ensures that critical components remain stable and operate reliably, while the overall temperature inside the control cabinet is kept constant.

Low-Noise Design

For environments where low noise emissions are critical, the PROTEMP Silent model provides an exceptionally quiet solution.

Application areas of the PROTEMP device coolers

Telecom housing

Telecom enclosures can be found all over the world in the most diverse locations and are therefore exposed to the most varied conditions. However, most enclosures have one thing in common: they sometimes house sensitive electronics in a compact space. Due to the limited space available and the need to cool the enclosures in the summer months and heat them in winter, Peltier temperature control units offer ideal conditions. The high requirements for operating temperature ranges and ambient conditions also make the use of Peltier technology indispensable in most cases.

Crane technology

It is hard to imagine production halls without cranes: they transport components in a wide range of weight classes and made from a wide variety of materials to ensure an efficient production process. What most cranes have in common is that they are not only mobile, but are also usually mounted at the top. As a result, they are exposed to high ambient conditions due to air accumulating under the hall ceiling. This problem is particularly aggravated in foundries or paper mills where, in addition to extremely high temperatures, there is also an extreme degree of contamination. However, such requirements can be safely met with the “HL” appliance series, which is not only designed for ambient temperatures of up to 90°C, but is also extremely robust against dirty air.

Mechanical engineering control enclosure

Machine control systems are often the heart of entire systems and production lines: If errors occur here, this can have serious consequences. In addition to the need for active cooling to protect the components, production halls are often subject to difficult conditions: Air containing dust, dirt, oil or water, as well as deposits created during production processes, can penetrate the enclosures and endanger installed components. Due to their principle, panel enclosure coolers work without active air exchange between the inside of the enclosure and the environment and at the same time ensure that the components are cooled.

Offshore applications

Due to the increasing importance of offshore wind farms, for example, applications with salty ambient air are becoming more and more relevant. However, well-known areas of application on ships or in electrical enclosures for systems near the coast also present challenging conditions: The salty ambient air damages materials through rapid corrosion in a short period of time until the systems fail. Active cooling using compressors is also sometimes not possible due to frequent changes of position and accelerations, for example on ships. Peltier enclosure coolers provide the solution here: due to their principle, they not only work independently of position and acceleration, but can also be manufactured in a salt spray-resistant design.

Test & measurement housing

Test and measurement enclosures require precise control of the prevailing conditions. Whether calibration, process monitoring or applications with high-precision measuring instruments: Such applications are usually sensitive to fluctuations in humidity and, in particular, temperature. This can falsify measurement results and thus produce inaccurate or incorrect results. Peltier housing temperature control units work with electricity as a direct control variable for their output. As a result of this and the possibility of cooling and heating operation in one device, high-precision temperature control can be achieved and enclosures with a temperature stability of less than 0.1 K can be realized.

Railroad technology

Applications in railroad technology require the highest quality standards in order to meet the requirements in terms of service life and robustness. In addition to the harsh environmental conditions with dust, dirt and even requirements for vandalism, large spreads in the ambient temperature are just some of the requirements. Peltier devices offer the advantage that they work reliably even with accelerations and changes in orientation. In addition, the principle-based reduction in the number of components offers considerable advantages in terms of the service life of the cooling unit.

Digital Signage

In the field of advertising technology, displays have become an integral part of our world: Information is transmitted in the shortest possible time and must not only be eye-catching, but also convey a memorable image, especially in the field of advertising technology. Screens used for this purpose generate more and more waste heat, which must be dissipated, especially when used outdoors. Outdoor steels, as used not only in advertising but also, for example, as guidance systems for traffic or people, are exposed to wind and weather all year round: Efficient temperature management can significantly increase the service life of the components, especially in such applications.
