Junior Development Engineer – Electronics / Mechatronics (m/f/d)

We develop and manufacture high-precision Peltier controllers and associated electronic assemblies. To strengthen our R&D team, we are looking for a motivated junior engineer who enjoys tackling technical challenges, works in a structured manner, and values interdisciplinary collaboration.

Your responsibilities:

Technical support & customer assistance

  • Primary technical point of contact for our Peltier controllers
    – internally for Sales, Project Management, and Prototype Engineering
    – externally for customers and system integrators
  • Analysis of support requests, troubleshooting, and development of technical solutions
  • Creation of technical documentation and support of knowledge transfer

Development & Design

  • Development of small add-on assemblies, interface boards, and test modules
  • Design and setup of test benches for internal validation and customer projects
  • Creation of schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
  • Development of test and measurement automation, e.g., using Python (test scripts, data analysis, automation of measurement procedures)

Interface work

  • Close collaboration with mechanical design for the implementation of enclosures, mounts, and thermal concepts
  • Coordination with prototype engineering, including:
    – Supporting and optimizing in-house assembly processes
    – Acting as the point of contact during commissioning and test runs

Prototyping & Validation

  • Assembly, testing, and documentation of functional prototypes
  • Performing measurements and functional tests (e.g., thermal management, sensors, power supply)
  • Feedback of findings into series production / product development

Your profile:

  • Completed training as a state-certified technician in electrical engineering or a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a similar technical field
  • Knowledge in electronic development, e.g., circuit design, sensors, and power electronics
  • Ideally, some initial experience with Altium Designer or a comparable EDA tool
  • Initial experience or interest in Python for test automation, data acquisition, or small tools
  • Structured, solution-oriented working style, with enjoyment in direct collaboration with other departments and customers
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
